Who We Are
As land planners and licensed landscape architects we understand the complex permitting and building processes. You can rely on our more than 40 years of experience to provide you with the planning and design services that build better communities.
In addition to land planning, we are Certified Arborists and Tree Hazard Assessment Professionals, which allows us to address matters critical to the success of a project.
Since inception, our firm has relied on the referrals of our clients and other professionals who understand the value, knowledge, and experience we bring to each project.
David W. McKee, President, joined Benning & Associates in March of 1989. Mr. McKee worked under the tutelage of Stanley O. Benning, the founder of the company, until Mr. Benning’s retirement in 2000.

His experience includes all aspects of land planning with a recent focus on zoning matters, subdivision development, site development, and stormwater management.
When he’s not working, Mr. McKee enjoys outdoor pursuits including hiking and kayaking, vacationing with his family on Ocracoke Island, or visiting local breweries near his home in Frederick County, Maryland.
